Abstract

Following the Fifth Research Seminar of the Council of Rectors of Private Universities (CRUP), held in September 2015, the
Private Universities, held in September 2015, the CRUP decided to entrust a commission made up of Osvaldo
Barsky, Ángela Corengia, José Fliguer and Gabriela Michelini to prepare a book that would systematize
the historical background that explains the conformation of the research system of Argentine private universities, its evolution and
the evolution and the essential features of its current situation.
This book, edited in April 2016 can be consulted in open access on the CRUP website.
In this issue of Debate Universitario we reproduce its prologue and conclusions
