Academic professionalization and departmental organization in the debates of the University Convention of the University of Buenos Aires

Abstract

The Statute of the University of Buenos Aires, drawn up in 1958, represented the codification of a set of ideas, criteria and devices about what that university should be like after the Peronistexperience. The history of the UBA between 1958 and 1966 and from 1983 to the present. In this work the debates on the fundamental aspects of the university program modernizing group of the UBA are approached: the academic professionalization and the departmental organization.
