At present, quality assurance in higher education institutions has become a strategic axis of both administrative and academic tasks of universities, not only for compliance with legal requirements but also for satisfying society’s requirements for quality. in the planning, execution and results of the development of its substantive axes: teaching, research and links with society (extension). The evaluation, accreditation and quality assurance systems are constantly evolving due to the dynamism of knowledge, the modernization of management models, the vertiginous increase in the number of applicants and students accessing higher education, leading to a turning point in the educational offer, which has caused a greater social requirement to improve and ensure the quality of the universities, and therefore of their undergraduate and postgraduate academic offer (González, 2005).
