In an international context, a certain heterogeneity in admission policies to Higher Education seems to be related to both educational policies as well as the own selective function of the education system, which is present every time the demand is either increased or reduced.
In Argentina, selection policies have been lately diversified, marking a growing difference between explicit and implicit selections. This variety of modalities is linked to the autonomy of universities when choosing an admission policy.
Several studies on the subject suggest the need to set a policy on this matter due to the fact that there are some
inconsistencies between requirements, structures and
objectives in the already established systems
