Pedagogical competencies of University professors for the production of quality materials for distance learning through ICTs. In Higher Education, distance learning has transformed the teacher’s role and added a new one: that of content expert, a person responsible for producing learning materials.
We have researched to what extent professors of face-to-face courses possess the necessary competences to perform as content experts. We created a taxonomy of quality competences to evaluate the competences of a group of thirty professors, using the pedagogic, communicative and evaluative features of their materials as indicators. The results may make a contribution to the
education of university professors as content experts
